Job Description:

As a Senior Interior Designer at Soul Interiors Design, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing interior design projects from concept to completion. You will collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, and other consultants to translate the client’s vision and project programming into reality. Your expertise and leadership will drive project success and contribute to the growth and reputation of our firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Leadership: Lead and manage interior design projects of varying scales and complexities, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  2. Concept Development: Develop innovative design concepts that align with client objectives, project requirements, and budget while integrating functionality, sustainability, and aesthetics.
  3. Client Collaboration: Cultivate strong client relationships through effective communication, understanding client needs, presenting design proposals, and soliciting feedback to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
  4. Team Management: Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to other staff designers and help foster a collaborative and creative work environment.
  5. Space Planning and Layout: Conduct space planning exercises, optimize spatial layouts, and develop furniture arrangements that maximize efficiency and user comfort.
  6. Material and Finishes Selection: Source, select, and specify appropriate materials, finishes, furnishings, and fixtures that align with design concepts, client preferences, and project specifications.
  7. Documentation and Presentation: Prepare detailed drawings, renderings, presentations, and documentation packages using CAD software and other design tools to effectively communicate design intent and specifications.
  8. Coordination and Collaboration: Collaborate with contractors, architects, engineers, workrooms and vendors to coordinate design implementation, resolve technical challenges, and ensure a successful project.
  9. Quality Assurance: Conduct job site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, ensure compliance with design specifications, and maintain quality standards.
  10. Custom Fabrication Oversight: Work with Company’s drapery and upholstery workrooms, as well as cabinetmakers to oversee production of custom goods for each job, as well as coordinate installations.
  11. Continued Learning and Development: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in interior design through continued education, training, and professional development activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
  • 6 – 7 years minimum experience in interior design, with a focus on residential design and construction
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Chief Architect, preferred), Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with QuickBooks, Asana, and Dropbox, a plus.
  • Strong design portfolio showcasing innovative design solutions, creative thinking, and knowledge of construction detailing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage projects, teams, and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize deliverables.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Positive, can-do attitude and ability to resolve issues professionally.
  • Proficiency in writing F,F & E specifications and producing Estimated Budgets.
  • Knowledge of residential building codes, industry standards and current trends.
  • LEED or WELL-AP accreditation or other sustainability certifications, a plus.
  • Membership in professional organizations such as ASID or NKBA (preferred).
  • Must be a US citizen and/or have authorization to work in the US.
