Chosen candidate(s) will be added to the mandatory overtime roster, which is utilized on a rotating basis. The MOT is applied during times of emergency, after the agency has made a good faith effort to have overtime covered and all other staffing options have been exhausted (volunteers, hourly staff, contracted staff). Our Addiction Treatment Centers (ATCs) operate 24/7/365 programing. Therefore, MOT IS an essential function of this position and is critical to maintaining adequate staffing at all times in order to ensure the health and safety of clients within the facility.Appointment status will be discussed in more detail at a later point in the recruitment process with candidates who are under serious consideration. Candidates may potentially be appointed on a non-competitive basis via the HELPS program. If applicable, additional information about the HELPS program will also be provided. Duties Description This position will be filled within McPike ATC's authorized fill level. This item is assigned to our Admission Department and serve as the Admission Coordinator. The current coordinator is an AC3 and will be moving to the clinical team to fill the role of clinical supervisor. It is critical that this position is filled to maintain and lead the admissions department. Responsibilities for this position in this position include, but are not limited to, the following:- Admission determination, admission interviews, outreach activities, scheduling, etc.- Communicates with insurance companies to obtain both preauthorization and concurrent reviews to obtain payment for treatment.- Functions as member of the multidisciplinary treatment team.- Authors procedurally correct patient records including justification for continued stay and progress toward meeting treatment goals.- Competent daily use of a computer for patient record documentation and other required communication. - Accepts referrals from community-based referral sources and accepts self-referrals.- Contacts referral source when a referral is made to thank the agency for the referral and provide a tentative date for admission interview as appropriate.- Enters patient information into the pre-admission bundle in Avatar.- Obtains clearance from medical staff on referrals that have an extensive or problematic medical issue; obtains clearance from psychiatric/psychological staff on referrals that have an extensive or problematic psychiatric issue.- Schedules admissions based on scheduled discharges and open bed capacity.- Manages the waiting list - maintains contact with all prospective patients and/or referral source to ensure patients safety and coordinate services to meet prospective patient needs prior to admission; documents all contacts in Avatar; reports on waiting list status in Leadership meetings.- Provides report on daily admissions scheduled in morning treatment team meeting.- Greets new admission with a welcoming and supportive attitude and meets initial patient needs as appropriate.- Completes the LOCADTR on new admissions.- Completes accurate and timely data entry of admission information at the time of admission.- Works with physician, nurses, resource agent, and psychologist, relaying areas of concern on newly admitted patients.- Works cooperatively with the other Admission Coordinators to implement an outreach program with current and potential referral targets.- When applicable, contacts the insurance company and provide them with requested information.- Identifies possible outreach activities and coordinates associated activities. - Regularly reviews admissions trends for McPike' s 16-county encashment area and targets outreach in areas where referrals have been declining and agencies that were once a robust source of referrals.- Performs administrative and clinical supervision functions for subordinate admission staff.- Participates in outreach activities to increase the census. - Participates in community events and provider meetings. - Completes case management duties as assigned. Additional Comments The salary range listed for this posting reflects the full range for this graded position, factoring in annual performance advances based on satisfactory annual performance reviews. Candidates with no previous State service will begin at the hiring rate (starting rate of the salary range) listed above, plus any applicable Location Pay/Geographic Pay/Shift Pay differentials.
